General Newborn Care

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and its member pediatricians dedicate their efforts and resources to the health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. Hand to Hold® provides personalized support before, during, and after a NICU stay to help ensure all NICU families thrive.

The mission of NICU Helping Hands is to develop hospital- and community-based programs that provide education and support for families with babies while in the NICU, during their transition from hospital to home and in the event of an infant loss. If you are a current NICU family experiencing financial difficulty we may be able to assist you through our gift card program. NICU Helping Hands’ gift card program provides assistance with grocery, restaurant, and gas expenses.

Their vision is a world where no parent goes through the experience of prematurity alone. Their mission is to inform and guide parents of preemies so that they may confidently navigate the journey of prematurity. They offer preemie parent care packages, preemie parent mentorship, loss and remembrance support, and a preemie parent community.

Nutrition and Breastfeeding

Nest Collaborative is a collection of International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants who conduct online, video appointments to help guide parents through the breastfeeding process. They accept most insurances!

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children – better known as the WIC program – serves to safeguard the health of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating including breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care. Their mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.

ZipMilk is a site that provides listings for chest/breastfeeding resources sorted by ZIP Code. It is designed for use by consumers interested in help or support for chest/breastfeeding, as well as by providers who want to give their clients access to such resources.

At TLN, their movement goes beyond any single outlet or tool. They activate education, connection, and advocacy to foster the new network of inclusive care between parents and IBCLCs: The network where every caregiver has the resources to thrive. TLN is powered by the largest network of IBCLCs in the country.

Chocolate Milk Café is a national network developed by Black lactation, human milk feeding, and breastfeeding advocates and professionals to provide culturally congruent care to families of the African Diaspora. Using peer-led lactation support and professional development programs, we provide education and create sacred spaces to empower and advocate for Black families, on both national and local levels.

The National Black Doula Association (NBDA®) is dedicated to connecting Black (BIPOC) birthing families with Black (BIPOC) Doulas across the nation. Our mission is to combat the alarming rates of Black maternal mortality and morbidity by providing comprehensive education and training through the NBDA Leadership Academy™ and our Multi-level Doula Training Program.

Doula Support

This site was developed to help expectant families quickly and efficiently find doulas who are available during their due dates. It’s also a great place to get a baseline understanding of each doula’s training, certification, and experience levels.

Safe Kids Worldwide is a nonprofit organization working to help families, and communities keep kids safe from injuries. Most people are surprised to learn preventable injuries are the #1 killer of kids in the United States. Throughout the world, almost one million children die of an injury each year, and almost every one of these tragedies is preventable. Safe Kids works with an extensive network of more than 400 coalitions in the United States and with partners in more than 30 countries to reduce traffic injuries, drownings, falls, burns, poisonings, and more.
